
Restorative Yoga is a passive, meditative yoga style focused on deep relaxation + stress reduction. Incorporating Reiki infused therapeutic touch adds an additional layer of healing and enhances the body’s natural ability to restore itself. Unlike most popular styles of yoga, it does not involve muscle engagement, balance or the need to be flexible. It is quite the OPPOSITE. It involves holding supported poses, whether on the floor, using a chair or on a massage table, for an extended period of time (4-8 minutes).
Yin Yoga is a slow paced practice that focuses on targeting the body's deeper connective tissues like the fascia, ligaments and joints. These tissues are less elastic and respond best to slow, sustained, moderate stress. This practice involves holding specific poses for up to 3 minutes or longer, and is deeply introspective + meditative. Incorporating breath work to release tension, it promotes mindfulness + deeper relaxation to support joint health while reducing stress and anxiety.
Meditation is a practice that involves focusing the mind to reduce anxiety, find your center and achieve inner calm + clarity. Guided meditation sessions provide a gentle tether to help redirect attention whenever the mind naturally wanders.
With the help of props like blankets, bolsters, blocks + weights, and applying gentle reiki infused touch, helps to release tension and remove energy blockages . The body is allowed to fully relax and the nervous system proceeds to quiet, effectively deactivating your "fight or flight" response. By prioritizing stillness, support + comfort, your mind slows down, your body to lets go and your being sinks into a state of ease.

This allows for full relaxation and disengagement of the muscles, effectively activating your parasympathetic nervous system. By shifting into a "rest + digest" state it signals to your body that you are safe and it can begin to heal.

The goal is passive stretching and deep relaxation, not muscular effort or endurance, and employs gravity for a gentle and healing stretch. Using props, when needed, allows poses to be more accessible for all levels, provide support for comfort, relaxation and to inhibit muscle engagement.

This in turn allows full relaxation and encourages self awareness and full presence. This smaller class size allows us to provide individual adjustments as needed, and allows you to feel comfortable + safe in a relaxing and quiet atmosphere.
